How long does my shop have to close during the works?
As short as possible. We prepare as much as we can off site, such as the custom joinery in the workshop, and schedule the works tightly week by week. For a refit we can sometimes also work in phases or outside opening hours.
How much does a shop fit-out cost?
That mainly depends on the floor area, the amount of custom joinery, the lighting and whether it is an empty space or an existing shop. After a free site visit you receive a fixed-price quote within 48 hours.
Can you work to our brand identity?
Yes. We translate your brand into the space: colours, materials and atmosphere, in consultation with your designer or based on your brand guidelines.
Do you also do the custom joinery and lighting?
Yes, from counter, wall shelving and fitting rooms to a lighting plan with spotlights on your products. You have one point of contact for everything.
Do I need a permit?
For an ordinary fit-out within an existing shop, usually not. If you change the façade or the use of the building, or put up façade signage, you often do. For a shop with a net retail floor area of more than 400 m², an environmental permit for retail activities is also required. We check this during the site visit.
I rent my shop: what should I look out for?
Check in your lease which works you may carry out and in what condition you must return the space. We help describe the works clearly for the landlord.
How do you make sure the lighting is right?
With a combination of general lighting, targeted spotlights on your products and good lighting in the fitting rooms. With LED you keep energy consumption low.
Which floor is suitable for a shop?
A floor that can take heavy footfall and is easy to maintain, such as a poured floor, ceramic tiles or a hard-wearing vinyl floor. We choose together what suits your brand and your budget.
Which VAT rate applies to a shop fit-out?
Shops are subject to 21% VAT. If you are VAT-registered, you can usually reclaim the VAT.
What guarantees do I get?
You get a fixed price: the price in your quote is the price you pay, and extra work is only done after your written approval. Structural work comes with a 10-year guarantee.
